What happens when you cancel

We're writing this before you become a customer, on purpose. If the exit terms don't look fair, there's no point starting.

The terms in two sentences

The contract is monthly, with no minimum term. You cancel with 14 days' notice, by email or through the client area, without explaining why.

No penalty, no "remaining months", no call with someone whose job is to keep you.

How to do it

Either:

  • Through the client area — find the service and submit a cancellation request.
  • By email — write to contact@hostika-bg.com. One sentence is enough.

We'll reply with a confirmation and the exact date the service stops. If that confirmation doesn't arrive within one working day, call us — don't take silence as acceptance.

When exactly it stops

14 days after we receive your notice, or at the end of the current paid period — whichever is later.

Paid but unused periods aren't refunded. If you've paid for the month and cancel on the 5th, the service runs to the end of that month. So there's no reason to rush — give notice and use it to the end.

What you take with you

Your content is yours. The text, the photos, the logo — they were yours and they stay yours. We don't hold them.

The finished site is yours. The build is included in the subscription, but the result doesn't become our hostage when you leave. On request we give you a full archive: the site's files and its database, in a standard format any other host can accept.

Ask for it before your cancellation date. After that the data goes into the deletion schedule.

The domain is yours. It's registered in your name, not ours. If you want to move it, we give you the transfer code and unlock it. We don't stall transfers — that's a petty practice and we don't run it.

Email. Download your mail before the service stops. If you use Outlook or Thunderbird over IMAP it's already on your computer too — but check rather than assume. If you only use webmail, it exists only on the server.

What your new provider will need

So you don't end up stranded halfway with half a site, get this together before you move:

  1. An archive of the files and the database (we give you this).
  2. A list of the email addresses you use.
  3. A local copy of your mail.
  4. Access to the domain — the registrar's panel, or a transfer code from us.
  5. Your current DNS records, if you have anything unusual (a Google verification, another mail service, a confirmation record).

If your new provider wants help with the handover, we're happy to talk to them directly.

What happens to your data afterwards

The site and its backups are deleted on a schedule after cancellation. Ask for your archive before the date, not after.

Account data (invoices, contract) we keep for the term of the contract plus five years — that's a Bulgarian accounting requirement, not our choice. Security logs, 90 days.

You have the right to request earlier deletion of anything the law doesn't require us to keep. Write to privacy@hostika-bg.com; we answer within 30 days.

If the reason is price

Say so before you cancel. There may be a cheaper plan that still does the job. This isn't an attempt to trap you — it's simply cheaper than migrating, for both of us.

If the reason is that something doesn't work

Say that too. If we got it wrong we want to know, even if you're leaving. If we can fix it in a day, we'll ask whether you want to stay — once.

If we terminate

Two cases only: unpaid invoices after warnings, or a serious breach of the terms (spam, phishing, malware, illegal content). The sequence is warning → suspension → termination, never straight to the end.

If we change prices or terms, you get 30 days' notice by email. If the change is materially adverse to you, you can terminate without penalty before it takes effect.
