What you have
- A backup every day, automatically. You do nothing.
- 14 days of history. You can go back to any of the last 14 days.
- Restores are free. No fee, no limit on how many times you ask.
- The copy doesn't live on the same machine. A backup on the same server isn't a backup — it dies with everything else.
What's in it
- All your site's files — themes, plugins, uploaded images and documents.
- The database — posts, pages, orders, users, settings.
- The server configuration for your site.
- Your mailboxes, if your email is hosted with us.
What's NOT in it
- Data in third-party services. If your forms feed Mailchimp, or your shop syncs with an inventory system, that data lives there, not here.
- Changes from the last few hours. The backup is from last night. If you uploaded something an hour ago and it disappears, it was never in a backup.
- Anything outside your hosting account. Your Google Business profile, your Facebook page, your domain registration.
When a backup helps and when it doesn't
It helps with:
- An update that broke the site.
- Deleted content — a page, an image, a post.
- A change that seemed like a good idea and wasn't.
- A hacked or infected site, if you catch it in time.
- A failed disk on the server.
It doesn't help with:
- Noticing the problem more than 14 days later. If the site was compromised three weeks ago, all 14 backups already contain the compromise. This is why checking regularly matters.
- A problem in a third-party service. A deleted Mailchimp account doesn't come back from your site's backup.
- An expired domain. No backup anywhere restores a domain the registry has deleted. For
.bgthat's final — see how to choose a domain.
How to request a restore
Write through the client area or to contact@hostika-bg.com and tell us three things:
- Which site.
- From which date. "Before Friday's update" is enough if you don't know the exact day.
- All of it or part of it. Whole site, database only, one image, one page.
Point 3 saves the most time. If you deleted one file you don't need a full rollback — we pull just that file and nothing else changes.
How fast: we start within your plan's response time — Basic within 8 business hours, Business within 4, Enterprise within 2. The restore itself is quick for an ordinary site; a large database takes longer.
If the site is completely unreachable, say so in the first line of your message so it jumps the queue.
One important warning
A full restore takes the entire site back in time. Everything done after the chosen date disappears — including new orders, new signups and new comments.
If you run a shop or a form that collects enquiries, say so explicitly. We can restore the files while preserving the newer database records. That's manual work and we do it, but we have to know you need it.
Why we still recommend your own copy
Backups are a service, not a guarantee — that's written into the Terms of Service too. No host anywhere accepts liability for lost data, including us.
If your site is your main sales channel, take your own copy once a quarter and keep it somewhere else — an external drive, Google Drive, whatever. Ask us for an archive, download it, put it aside. It takes ten minutes and it's the one thing that survives even if we get it wrong.
If you don't know how, say so and we'll send you a ready-made one.
Before any big change
Changing themes, a major update, a new plugin that touches the database — tell us before, not after. We'll take a backup immediately before the change. Then rolling back is a matter of minutes, rather than digging for exactly which day it was.
